Monitoring and Evaluation
Strong monitoring and evaluation (M&E) helps projects track progress, measure impact, identify unintended outcomes, and support adaptive management, enabling better strategic planning and high-quality donor reporting. During project design and start-up, Adaptive works with teams to develop a comprehensive M&E Plan along with the tools and resources the team will need to implement that plan. Adaptive also works with organizations to strengthen M&E systems for existing projects (M&E plans, tools, etc.), ensuring these systems are capturing the project's impact and enabling effective adaptive management (where project learning leads to action and adaptation).

Illustrative Services:
-
Facilitate a workshop or other participatory method to develop an M&E Plan (also called a Performance Monitoring Framework) to define and measure indicators of success.
-
Navigate donor M&E requirements including the integration or development of standard indicators, performance indicator reference sheets (PIRS), Accountability to Affected Populations (AAP), and the Activity Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning Plan (AMELP).
-
Design the monitoring tools (e.g., baseline and endline surveys, post-distribution monitoring (PDM), attendance tracking, etc.) and the accompanying performance indicator tracking tables (PITT) to record results.
-
Integrate Learning within the M&E system (e.g., through 'learning questions') to validate assumptions, test the project logic, and make data-informed adaptions to the project approaches.
-
Led data interpretation efforts to help teams turn data into information that can inform action.
